One of the oldest telecom equipment vendors, Nokia, and the skill development giant NIIT has launched a 5G certification program. In this program, they will work together to educate professionals about the next big technological trend. This announcement comes as great news for several telecom professionals. Recently, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio announced the inevitable launch of 5G services.
This new 5G wave will open up many possibilities and job openings in different sectors. Many experts believe that 5G will practically change the landscape of several industries. It will be a significant improvement over the existing 4G technology. To undertake such a change, companies will require additional workforce and technical resources. This requirement will create several employment opportunities for the country.
S.P. Kochhar, the Director-General of Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), said, “Building out an extensive 5G network is a mammoth undertaking, but finding the workforce to make it possible is a challenge. Even finding people to update and maintain existing infrastructure is a substantial issue for many companies,”
Nokia and NIIT will equip these professionals for all the challenges they might face in adapting 5G technology. By providing them with the required skills and knowledge, these companies will make job seekers an invaluable resource. The Nokia Bell Labs 5G Certification Program is offering two certification levels- Associate and Professional for all professionals in the ICT industry.
“The companies and individuals who are best informed and equipped to recognize the opportunities of 5G stand to benefit most from this revolutionary technology and the critical networks they support. Nokia is excited to partner with NIIT and COAI …to bring 5G certification to individuals and organizations across India,” said Sergio Fasce, Vice President of Nokia.
The Associate Level Certification will begin first, followed by the Professional Level. This certification will provide professionals with the right tools to handle the job. Nokia itself is a 5G vendor and has built the course on its principles of Nokia Bell Labs’ pioneering Future X architecture for the 5G era.
NIIT will become the only platform providing a professional course for 5G technology. Sapnesh Lalla, the CFO at NIIT, said, “We are excited to partner with Nokia and COAI to deliver this innovative 5G certification program – a first-of-its-kind opportunity for professionals and organizations across India,”
5G technology will bring a multitude of changes in several industries across the nation. Now is the time to equip yourself with the tools to make the most out of this revolutionary trend.
